ABOUT US
Built in the Four Corners, run by hand.
Close The Deal LLC is a Durango-based online consignment business, serving pawn shops, retailers, and private sellers across Durango, Ignacio, and Cortez.
We specialize in collectibles, vintage goods, and high-value inventory, the kind of items that need real research and a well-written listing to sell for what they’re actually worth, not just a quick photo and a guess at a price.
Every item we handle gets the same process: real market research using actual sold comps, professional photography, an honest condition grade, and a listing built to be found by the buyers who are actually looking for it. Then we manage the sale end to end, buyers, shipping, and customer service included, so you get a check instead of a to-do list.
We’re hands-off for you and hands-on for us. You drop it off, we do the rest.
Who runs Close The Deal
Close The Deal is owned and run by Scott Herz, here in Durango. There are no partners and no call center. The person who looks at your items is the same person who photographs them, prices them, lists them and answers your questions.
How the work gets done
Most weekdays start in a shop, photographing and pulling inventory, and finish at the desk researching and listing what came in that morning. Every price starts from what identical items actually sold for recently, not from what other sellers happen to be asking.
Each item then goes up on several marketplaces at once: eBay, Whatnot, Poshmark and Depop. More places means more buyers see it, and the item sells to whoever finds it first.
Why things sit unsold
Most items that do not sell fail for the same few reasons: a vague title, a photo that does not show what the buyer is looking for, a missing size or model number, or a price set by hope rather than by sold data. We fix those before an item goes live, and we plan for the item that does not sell, with scheduled price reductions across a ninety day cycle so nothing is left sitting forgotten.
Who we work with
Pawn shops, boutiques and retailers with stock that is not moving, and private sellers clearing out a collection, an estate or a garage. You get paid twice a month for what sold, and anything unsold after 90 days comes back to you.
